For Neltur President José Guilherme Azevedo, the city was in need of a new tourism signage project that would meet the demands of tourists, visitors and residents: “This covenant with MTur is enabling us to leverage this project, following the standard rule of the Brazilian Tourist Signage Guide, reaching attractions in various regions of the city, “affirmed. “Niterói has passed and passes through constantly changes, and in tourism we must follow this whole process,” highlighted.

The tourism signage project began with the analysis of all the consolidated tourist attractions with capacity to reach the target public, and was consolidated with the spatial distribution of signage. Attractions were signaled that, indispensably, have accessibility and infrastructure. After the listing of the tourist attractions indicated, the current situation of each one and its surroundings, on the spot, was analyzed through the provision of existing infrastructure, land use, tourism potential, users themselves, tourist support equipment and the premises of the road system – the road network of circulation and access to localities. All the information was essential for understanding the dynamics of the region to be signaled, its characteristics and its problems.

The project is being developed in partnership with the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Tourism. The management is done by Caixa Econômica Federal, the planning and elaboration carried out by Neltur in partnership with NitTrans, with Emusa execution support.
