At the end of the road of same name and stretching along approximately 1,000m, it is the only oceanic beach of Niterói with ever peaceful waters. It is one of the oldest areas of the city, with its fishermen’s village, an early 18th century church, the Archeology Museum, contrasting with modern summer houses. In the Tupi language, its name means “water that comes out of the rocks”. It has seafood restaurants by the seaside, where you can enjoy the city’s most beautiful sunset. The channel connecting the lagoon to the ocean is the natural boundary between Itaipu and Camboinhas.
